Math Workshop: Where Do I Start?

I have been talking to some lower grade teachers on how to make a Math Workshop approach work in kindergarten/1st grade. This teacher has a great blog post about how she first implemented Math Workshop.

In her experience, she felt liberated when she realized that Math Workshop was not something that needed to be done every day. As long as you create a consistent routine, and set up very clear expectations for your class, it can be manageable and not too difficult for you.

I found this post to be very helpful, hopefully you will too! Access the site here.

As far as the upper grades go, there is a very useful article on scholastic.com by Beth Newingham. She goes in great detail and gives examples and resources that show how teachers can utilize the Math Workshop approach in their classrooms.

Her article can be accessed here.
